Step by step
1. Create a free profile account at: http://thetechvirtual.org/createMember
2. Create a free profile account at Second Life.com: http://www.secondlife.com/join
You will be prompted to create an online character called an avatar. The name you choose does not have to resemble your actual name.
After registering you will need to verify your email address.
You will also be prompted to download the Second Life software
at: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php

3. After downloading and running the software you will be able to enter the virtual environment. To move yourself (teleport) to our location: click this link.
4. Should you have difficulty with this, just contact us by using this link with your avatar name you created and we will contact you. If you are already
familiar with Second Life, send a message to avatar "Agent Heliosense" or "Stephe Roux" and we will assist you.
5. Each exhibit design is called a "project". To start a new project, choose the current subject area from the projects page at: http://thetechvirtual.org/projects
Once you are logged into http://www.thetechvirtual.org you will see a button at the bottom of the projects page to "Create Project".
6. You can also request to join existing projects. Once started, you will be able to contribute content and design exhibits as part of this revolutionary new
collaborative approach to exhibit design!
7. The Tech Virtual is a collaborative design platform for creating
museum exhibits. As an exhibit designer your work may be installed at
museums around the
world. The designs and names submitted
to the site will be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution
license. This means that you own the copyright to
the work but enable it to be licensed provided you are named or given attribution as the source of the design
(See: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0) By creating an account you enable your designs to be seen by an international group of museum curators
and also visitors to The Tech Virtual museum.
