What is the exhibit about? Additive and subtractive color theory.

This is an exhibit in which visitors will interact with one primary component, and a secondary component:

  1. Additive Color Theory, explored through live video feed of the viewers, projected onto the surface of the outer fabric panels
  2. Subtractive Color Theory, created through still images from the live video feed, stored on the visitors badges as both the full color composite and the 4-color separation of the image.

Therefore, we need the following content:

  1. Additive Color Theory:
    1. Installation in SL is complete mostly except for the textures, which I am creating in Photoshop
    2. The missing object from the SL exhibit is the disco ball (done!!).
  2. Subtractive Color Theory:
    1. Nothing needed for SL except an example of the image that could be printed from the visitors badge, which I am creating in Photoshop.

And we have to make these decisions about the content:
  • Who produces the content? Avi, Anne, and Lydia have all contributed greatly to the refinement of this concept, and to the creation of the objects in SecondLife. I am currently producing visuals through Photoshop to be added to SL as textures. Chris is reviewing concept details based on his experience working with kids and technology.
