www.youtube.com/watch?v=Be6f6x-JpK8 Please See Document in Project Assets for Full Version- MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is the standard digital format for communicating musical performance information. Since its conception in 1983, MIDI has been one of the major driving forces in the development of electronic music. Now, with the standardization of the self-powered USB format and major advances in music software and hardware, MIDI has become a more prominent and powerful tool than ever in digital art expression. RL REALIZATION: Showcase a representative variety of today’s different MIDI controllers, each mapped to a unique and innovative collection of sounds/controls. Up to 5 can be slaved to one computer for an interactive and thorough experience. SL REALIZATION: Since midi is simply a digital language used to trigger sounds, the SL exhibit consists of a simply interface that speaks key words paired with an abstract digital instrument interface. It's functioning mirrors both the direct individual note triggering as well as some basic "MIDI" messaging.
