An emotional space which reacts to human presence and interaction via light and sound.

No

This is an analogy in the form of an emotional space disguised as a chill-out or resting place for human impact upon the environment. As we continue to exploit nature's resources, the earth reacts via changes in weather and natural disasters. The reactive space has its own version of this: changes in light and sound. Inside the space, there are ambient multi-coloured beams of light set against the walls, an initially calm computer-generated soundtrack, and light-weight colour-coded soft chairs or bean bags which can be moved around by the audience members. The space tracks the number of people contained within, the number of people who have entered the space overall throughout the day, and the movement of the chairs relative to their original locations (which are marked with the corresponding chair's colour). As the number of people within the space increases and the chair locations deviate from their origins, the space begins to react by increasing the intensity of the soundtrack, and by dulling and decreasing the beams of lights until they reach a minimal level in an effort to get people to put the chairs back where they were found and/or leave. The space will continuously attempt to reach its original state, i.e. before human influence. However, as human influence increases over time, the space will find it impossible to achieve that goal; it will never be the same as it was at its beginning.
