There Are No Strangers, Only Friends I Have Met
prize winner
How is creative collaboration influenced by knowledge of the other person? To what extent do we collaborate with an individual, rather than a 'creative other'?
Art, Film & Music Projects
No
We intend to design and construct a SL version of an exhibit in a 4 hour period, from 1200 hours to 1600 hours PST, February 17, 2008. We are two people who don't even know each other's real names, and who met only an hour before. I'm Annie Obscure, he's Mars Voyager. We're avatars on SL. We met this afternoon at his planetarium build at the space museum, visited the Tech online, and thought this up. We're going to try to collaborate under what are deliberately 'bad' conditions - we barely know each other, we've set a very limited 4 hours to hash out an idea and build it. The objective is to explore the issue of how creative collaboration is mediated or influenced by knowledge of the other person.

The camera that doesn't work

Something interesting just happened.
There's a camera on the exhibit that 'doesn't work' - camera 2 (the only on in the new paint scheme) is ZXZ, and I realized that my simple minded script doesn't handle this case.
OK, not so interesting, but the interesting part
is that there's a degeneracy. In the default 0,0,0 position, /317 <0,0,30> can be acheived either by rotating the bottom joint or the top one.

Mars - I just finished up the camera control panels.
If we can finish up the note cards, build a stand under the camera control panel, and do a final sanity check I think we're done. The judging is on the 29th, if we hustle a bit we can get in on it.
