Museum exhibits that use augmented reality

Welcome friends from ARDevCamp 2009!

Description: Augmented reality (AR) generally refers to the overlay of computer accessed information onto a view of visible objects. This can be accomplished by having the viewer look at a screen which shows both the visible objects and the data,  or by looking "through" a device using the screen display generated by a digital camera.  Global positioning systems (GPS) may be employed to connect the data with the viewer's location.

In some configurations, a viewer may use equipment to reveal computer-generated objects which are manipulated in real time around them, or the presence of other persons in their local environment.  In a "mixed reality" environment, a virtual world space is considered connected to physical space inseperably.  Augmented reality is not the same as "virtual reality" in which the viewer wears equipment which completely obstructs visual view of physical objects.

Design requirements: Become one of the first designers to use augmented reality in a museum exhibition.   How can we use available equipment to create a museum experience or exhibit that uses augmented reality?
